Andrea Garcés is head of the Intellectual Property Department at the firm’s Barcelona office.
Her work focuses mainly on the area of exclusive intellectual property rights and she is an expert on subjects such as trademark licensing, the commissioning of works, publishing agreements, the adaptation of existing works and the production and distribution of cinematographic works, among other matters.
She also defends our clients’ interests in court actions relating to their exclusive rights, and she represents some of the world’s leading brands in both the civil and criminal courts. In the field of industrial property she acts in the contentious-administrative courts to protect large trade mark portfolios belonging to well-known brands. In the intellectual property field, she defends the interests of our clients who own important rights connected with a number of world-renowned artists.
In the area of Commercial Law, she regularly provides ongoing legal advice for large Spanish companies on corporate, commercial and contractual issues, and she remains in permanent contact with their international parent companies.
She also has extensive experience of operations designed to expand the presence of international retail brands in Spain.
Andrea was head of the Secretariat of the Spanish National Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) for 4 years (the maximum term permitted) between 2012 and 2016.
