Gerard Marata is a partner in the Tax Department at Ventura Garcés López-Ibor. He had previously worked for 15 years in the tax department at Cuatrecasas.
Gerard has experience of advising large corporate groups from both Spain and overseas and has also worked extensively in tax planning and asset management. In the Energy sector he specialises in the tax systems that apply to renewable energies and the environment and has particular experience of the tax rules relating to renewable energies, hydrocarbons, the trading of greenhouse gas emission rights, controlled dumping and waste management, and atmospheric and water pollution.
He regularly attends Conferences, gives lectures and publishes specialist articles on energy-related and environmental taxation issues.
