Juan Manuel Pons joined the firm as a partner in the Tax Law Department in February 2019. He had previously held positions at Deloitte Legal and Ernst & Young Abogados.
Juan Manuel specialises in Tax Law, offering particular expertise in taxation systems and the restructuring of Spanish and international businesses, the definition of policy and the documentation of transfer pricing, the tax system as it relates to international personnel postings, and providing advice on inspections and investigations by the tax authorities. Juan Manuel has offered advice to businesses operating in a number of different sectors, particularly finance and insurance, manufacturing, distribution and ICT.
Over the course of his extensive professional career, Juan Manuel has repeatedly advised groups of companies, the subsidiaries of multinationals with establishments in Spain and start-ups. He has been involved in due diligence processes prior to the sale and purchase of corporate groups, as well as in corporate restructuring operations.
Juan Manuel teaches classes and gives seminars at EDEM, APD, Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles y Financieros (Market and Finances Study Foundation) and the Association of Economists, among other institutions.
