Lourdes Pérez-Luque is a partner at Ventura Garcés López-Ibor and head of the Tax Law Department at the firm’s Madrid office. Before joining the firm she spent 10 years running the Tax Department at Dentons Madrid (formerly Salans), having previously run her own consultancy company. She has been Chair of the CFE (Confédération Fiscale Européenne), and acted as Spain’s representative at the organisation for more than 15 years. She was Deputy Chair and General Secretary of the Governing Board of AEDAF (the Spanish Association of Tax Advisers), of which she is a member. She has been a member of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) since 2011 and was recently elected as an advisor to the new Chair of the organisation.
She specialises in providing tax advice in M&A and restructuring operations, Spanish tax procedures and international corporate tax matters. She has more than twenty-five years’ experience advising on Company Tax, VAT, and other regional and local direct and indirect taxes. She has been involved in a large number of investment and divestment operations involving both foreign investment in Spain and Spanish investment abroad. She has coordinated a large number of transactions involving countries in Latin America, advising on investments, the repatriation of profits, etc.
She has wide-ranging experience of advising taxpayers on tax-related procedures and inspections, and subsequently defending actions before the Courts. She has been involved in a large number of corporate restructuring processes (mergers, demergers, etc.) and in the structuring of national and international investments. In tax-related proceedings she assists clients with tax inspections and advises them on any subsequent disputes that may arise in relation to tax matters.
She has knowledge of a range of industrial sectors, such as wholesale distribution, air transport, broking, real estate, the energy market, retail distribution, mining, telecommunications, fashion and luxury goods and the film and entertainment industry, among others.
She sits on the Boards of Directors of a number of companies, offering them her expert knowledge in the areas of tax and corporate law.
